Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the cricket team on Sunday for winning the ICC World Twenty20 in London and announced an award of Rs 10 lakh each for captain Younis Khan and Man of the Match Shahid Afridi and Rs 5 lakh each for other players.In messages sent from Naudero to the captain and manager of the team, President Zardari termed the victory one of the most magnificent moments in the history of Pakistan cricket. ‘That our team is wearing this crown on the 56th birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Bhutto has made it even more magnificent,” he said.
President Zardari said the superb teamwork had made the victory possible and the nation would savour it for a long time. He asked the captain to convey his felicitations to all members of the team.
